Man, my Audubon Society Dinosaur guide is way off. The artwork therein makes Chirostenotes look nearly identical to Ornitholestes.

Yeah, that would be wrong. It turns out that this guy is actually a new genus, but Chirostenotes would look very similar to this guy.

There's actually more than one Chirostenotes-like critter from the Late Cretaceous of North America; not all of them have been published past SVP abstracts (which we aren't supposed to discuss prior to further publication) so let's just say that there are indeed Maastrichtian oviraptorids like this known.
